Talà Barkais an NGO created by Bancé Youssoufou who immigrated to Italy in the early 2000s together with some friends.
And its purpose is to train and support numerous communities inBurkina Faso,in the cultivation of the land and in the preservation of food, so that they become self-sufficient.
Talà Barkaare two words that, in the bissa language, mean "thanks to the earth", and represent the hope of our organization to be able to give concrete help to these numerous communities, teaching them how to work the land and transforming the processes and methods of preserving products food from local agriculture.
THE PROJECT
A key role in our projects is played by the training of people in the field, starting with the youngest, transmitting the value of life in contact with the earth and teaching the importance of technological innovation in production processes.
Tala Barka's project is based on an idea of social and economic sustainability, as well as environmental sustainability, and aims to create self-sufficient micro-companies with the aim of giving back a future to young Burkinabé: hence, the motto "help us to do without help. ", because the earth already offers us much of what we need.
HOW TALA BARKA IS BORN
"During a trip to Burkina Faso in 2017 I had the opportunity to talk with many people about the main needs of rural communities, being struck by the testimonies of many women on the main problems they face in their daily work.
Being a farmer is a tiring job, and these women work a lot to produce the food they consume, they struggle daily with the problem of conservation: there is no "vacuum", there are no structures for canning food and keeping it intact in the long run durations with dramatic consequences on the economy of these communities.
I realized when I left my country that it is very easy to suggest how we should “help Africa”; it is more difficult to go there and silently listen to the real needs of these communities, to give these people a voice, so that they can better communicate their needs. "
